Parapsychology esearch has recently revealed some stunning conclusions, pointing to a reality that perhaps everyone has psychic powers and abilities.
Recently reported by carrentals.co.uk, research by a respected psychologist has revealed that seeing into the future may be something many humans do automatically. The results, published in a major social science journal, New Scientist, may make waves in the scientific world, famed for its opposition to the concepts of telepathy, ESP and clairvoyance.
They will also spark millions of conversations touching on everyday experiences such as knowing who’s calling before picking up the phone. Prof Daryl Bern of Cornell University, a physicist and psychologist, initiated his research as an investigation into parapsychology. In his first experiment, students were given a list of words and asked to memorise them. Finally, they were given a random selection of the words to type.
Unsurprisingly, they were able to recall some words more easily than others. Strangely, the easily remembered words turned out to be the ones they were asked to type, suggesting a foreknowledge of the typing list. Again, the volunteers were shown a computer image of two curtains and told that behind one was an erotic image. They chose the erotic image curtain more often than could be explained by chance.
Eight similar experiments suggested the 1,000 students who took part in the study were actually influencing the future or having verifiable premonitions, and only one experiment suggested otherwise. According to Prof Bern, the statistical odds on the combined result’s being down to chance or a statistical fluke are 74 billion to one.
At lease one sceptic, having read the research report, is prepared to give Prof Bern, who has a reputation for care in his work, the benefit of the doubt. US psychologist Joachim Kruger said his personal view had to be this can’t be true, but the methodology and experimental design are in good order.
